ST. LOUIS – Aegis Digital Health, a BioSTL portfolio company, was awarded a prestigious Arch Grant in the amount of $75,000 and was announced today as a member of the Arch Grants 2023 Cohort. Each year, Arch Grants welcomes innovative, scalable, and job-creating startups from around the world to participate in the nonprofit’s annual Startup Competition. Aegis is a spinout of BioGenerator, the investment arm of BioSTL, which led Aegis’s 2022 investment round.
“We are excited about this award because it gives us an opportunity to further our mission right here in St. Louis,” said Stephen Von Rump, CEO and Founder of Aegis Digital Health. “Our current product – SweetSpot – is all about improving the quality of and access to care for diabetes patients, and we are already serving several hundred patients in the St. Louis area. Our long-term goal to improve care for socioeconomically and geographically underserved patient populations was especially compelling to the Arch Grants judging committee.”
“We are proud to see Aegis recognized for their groundbreaking work in the digital health space,” said Donn Rubin, Founding President and CEO of BioSTL. “Their work is very much in line with our mission to elevate St. Louis’ leadership in solving important world challenges in health care.”
“We could not be more excited to introduce the 2023 Arch Grants Cohort, of which Aegis is a valued member,” said Gabe Angieri, Executive Director of Arch Grants. “Each of this year's awardees are developing unique and needed innovations across myriad industries - and we're excited they'll be doing so from St. Louis for at least the next year.”
As part of the cohort, Aegis will participate in St. Louis area networking, professional and community service events throughout the next year. The winners were announced Thursday, November 9 at the Arch Grants neXus Gala, to welcome the 2023 Cohort and celebrate the economic impact that the organization has catalyzed in St. Louis since 2012.
